BCU 5 Star Training

I’m off to Cape Flattery this weekend to participate in my second BCU (British Canoe Union) 5 Star Sea training sessions. Although I’ve taken this training once before, and received high marks, the assessments are such an investment of time and money that I decided to hedge my bets with one more training. Body, Boat, and Blade is sponsoring the training and I’m really looking forward to paddling with Leon and Shawna again.

Not to mention the Cape itself; it’s such a dramatic and beautiful place whether sneaking in and out of the sea caves or admiring the beauty of Tatoosh Island. I’m also hoping to sneak another visit to the Makah Museum which is a must see if you ever find yourself in Neah Bay. The weather looks a bit dubious with 25 knot winds, 14’ swells, but I’ll be in good company and should have some great stories to share!
